Amsterdam. Famous for.. well, we all know what Amsterdam is famous for. But more than spliffs and the red light district, Amsterdam has been home to me for over 10 years.
Many times I’ve cycled along the canals: in the early morning, on a drunk high from a long night out; although lately more often fresh and sober on my way to a morning yoga class.
I’ve crossed those canal bridges so many times: rushing to college, work, althought once a year gently strollng over them for Queens.. excuse me, Kingsday.
And the funny thing with those Amsterdam canals and canal houses is: they just never bore me out. Not even after 10 years. And especially not when coming home after 8 months 🙂
These canal houses I drew for an Amsterdam based couple who’ll soon expect their first born. I hope the little kid will be just as enchanted by the Amsterdam and the many sides it has to it as I am 🙂
