A couple of days ago we announced the second edition of Talk & Draw 010, and I’m really excited to see that already 21 people confirmed they’re coming via Meetup and Facebook, and in addition another 79 are interested in coming!
In one month time, since the launch of this new and crisp creative event in Rotterdam, the Talk & Draw 010 community has grown rapidly and now counts almost 100 members on Meetup, and 172 followers on Facebook.
I feel that this proves the need for such an event in Rotterdam, where upcoming and established visual artists come together to share their passion for drawing, work on new or continuing projects, find peer-to-peer feedback and of course drink a beer or two together.
> This month our guest presenter is Marloes De Vries!
(Please note: her talk is in Dutch)
After graduating from art school, Marloes worked as a graphic designer and art director. In 2010 however, she took the leap to working as a freelance illustrator, which was always her true love. Today she’s an award winning illlustrator who has illustrated for numerous books and magazines. Known for her illustrator diaries, she exhibited in the U.S.A, U.K and the Netherlands. Also she writes very useful blog posts about the business of illustration. On Talk & Draw she’ll be telling more on how to launch your illustration career, what prices to ask for your work and what copyrights are.
During the event you can work on your ongoing drawing projects or get inspired by the presentation and try out something different! A great opportunity to get away from your desk and/or computer and get your hands dirty on paper!
So bring your sketchbook and drawing utensils as you like, make sure to tell other serial drawing enthusiasts about it and get ready for some fun and inspiration!
